Successful proponents for the next social impact investment transactions announced

The NSW Government has selected two proponents to enter a joint development phase from its recent request for social impact investment proposals (RFP).

A proposal addressing each of the preferred policy areas in the RFP has been selected:

  • Supporting vulnerable young people, particularly care leavers, to transition to independence – Uniting with St George Community Housing and Social Ventures Australia.
  • Supporting offenders on parole to reduce reoffending and re-incarceration – Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO) and arbias.

The Government will work collaboratively with each proponent to further develop the proposals during the joint development phase. Subject to the outcome of these negotiations, the Government may seek to enter a transaction with the proponents.

The Office received 16 proposals in total for the RFP, which closed on 26 July 2015. We were pleased with this response and thank all proponents for their interest and submissions.

The Office looks forward to working with the Department of Family & Community Services, Corrective Services NSW and the successful proponents in the coming months.
